What is a hairball, Kit doesn't deposit hairballs. For some strange reason, the hair just passes through her without any fuss. Could she be sneaking enzymes while I am not looking? Or is she just figured out how to get them through without choking and hacking. I know she must swallow hair, because she es almost always glistening from all that cat spit she wets herself down with.

Major Cat and his despotic slaves are an inspiration! Since I have four lovely felines who enjoy leaving cold, slimy presents for me to find in the dark with my bare feet, I might give this wonderful idea a try.
