By now, many of you have heard of the
passing of Michael Lang, owner of Brainchild
Michael died Tuesday night, October 16, at
his home with family and loved ones at his
side. He fought a brief and valiant battle
against pancreatic cancer.
Our prayers go out to his family, especially
his two children, who are recovered from autism.
I first met Michael several years ago as we
were both starting our own companies and were
facing similar difficulties. I was
immediately taken with his honesty, passion,
and determination to make a difference in
this world. Michael was an integral fixture
autism conferences such as DAN!, Autism One and
He attended several DAN!
think tanks and actually contributed to the
DAN! think tank by phone from his
hospital bed. I did not see him last week at
DAN!, and Terri Mykland of Brainchild told me
he was not well, but could not go into
details. Michael did not want us worrying
about him. When Terri called me on Wednesday
to tell me of his death, I was crushed.
passion and energy for
helping families dealing with autism was
second to none. The autism community has
lost a kind and generous soul.
Nutritionals will continue with
operations without interruption. By helping
kids with their nutritional support needs,
Michael's legacy will also continue.
I will miss you, my friend. Rest in peace.
