Changes in blood-brain barrier, intestinal permeability found in individuals with autism
Though the sample size for this initial study is small it does merit further study. The fact that ASD children may also have compromised blood-brain barriers has been postulated for some time; this study certainly adds to the evidence. Of more interest is whether gut healing may lead to healing of the blood-brain barrier.
